Although the stock Browser app has been equipped with several options that will facilitate the user while use this app, but there are some users who are not satisfied with this app and then decided to use a third-party browser app to replace it. One that has been widely used is Chrome browser app. One of the reason is that the browser is considered to be lighter and faster than the stock Browser app. Unfortunately this app does not have the option that allows you to change the homepage which will make this app open up certain web page whenever you open it. However, you can still do so with a little trick by adding certain shortcuts to the website that you already bookmarked on Chrome app to the Home screen.

How to add a website shortcut on Chrome app to Home screen?
Below are the steps you need to do:
  1. Open Chrome browser app.
  2. Navigate to the desired web page you wish to set as the home page by entering the URL in the address bar.
  3. Tap the Menu key then tap the Star icon to bookmark the web.
  4. If necessary, you can edit the bookmark's name and then save it in Mobile bookmarks.
  5. Tap Save button.
  6. Tap the Menu key then select Bookmarks.
  7. Long tap in the required bookmark then on the pop up menu select Add to home screen.
  8. The shortcut to the bookmark has been created on the home screen.
  9. Later, you just need to tap the shortcut then it will load the web in the Chrome browser app. If you prompted with the "complete action using" menu, then you can set Chrome app as the default.

Indeed, this step only add certain web page shortcuts to the Home screen not set the homepage. But, at least by using the steps, now you can load the desired web page on the Chrome app every time you tap it, which is the same as how the homepage works.
