Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Enable and Use Voice Control to Answer or Reject Calls in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Voice control lets you to control some of functions in the Samsung Galaxy S5 by using predefined voice commands so that you can do those functions without having to touch the phone, one of which is a voice control for incoming call. When you have enabled voice control for incoming call, you can answer or reject calls by saying the predefined voice commands instead of touching the on-screen icon or pressing the physical button.


How to enable or disable voice command for incoming call?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open Phone app.
  2. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Settings.
  3. Tap Call.
  4. Tap Answering and ending calls.
  5. Depending on your current settings, tap Voice control to enable or disable this option. When the checkbox next to this option is checked means you can use predefined voice commands to answer or reject calls.

How to answer or reject calls using voice command?
Assuming that you have enabled voice control for incoming call, then you can answer or reject calls by using predefined voice commands. See the following steps to do so:
  1. When an incoming call is received, you'll see is displayed on the status bar as a sign that the voice control for incoming call is available.
  2. Say "answer" to answer the call. FYI, answering calls with voice command will automatically turn the speakerphone on.
  3. Say "reject" to reject the call.

As a note, the voice control for incoming call won't be available when you put your phone into vibration mode. Also, to get better voice recognition, say the voice command for incoming call during the gaps of the ringtone when there's less background noise.
