Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Use Floating Keyboard Feature in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

Floating keyboard is a feature that you can use when typing with the Samsung keyboard in your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. When this feature is enabled, the keyboard will float above the currently opened app and can be moved to other location so you can use the whole screen to view the text you have written.

How to use the floating keyboard feature?
You can use this feature by using the following steps:
  1. Go to the app or screen where you can enter text, e.g., when writing a memo in Memo app.
  2. Long tap the key in the left side of the space bar(this key displays the icon of the last function that was used) and then tap to enable the floating keyboard feature. As a note, the floating keyboard icon won't be available if the magnification gestures feature is enabled.
  3. When the keyboard floats, you can do the following actions:
    • Moving the keyboard position: drag above the keyboard to move the keyboard to the other location.
    • Entering text and using keyboard features.
    • Switching to the standard keyboard: tap in the left side of the space bar to disable the floating keyboard feature and switch to the standard one.
