Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Create and Edit a Fast Motion Video in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

Fast motion is a recording mode in the Camera app that will let you use the rear camera in your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge to record a video for viewing it in fast motion. It's best used when you want to have a better way to show a video of a moving object that's difficult and/or time-consuming without making the ones who watch the video to be bored, e.g., when you want to show how to make an origami, when you want to show how busy you are when preparing your friend's surprise party, when you want to show how to cook a delicious cake step by step, etc.

How to create a fast motion video in the Camera app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Camera app. If the quick launch camera feature is enabled, you can quickly launch the Camera app from any screen by pressing the Home key twice in quick succession.
  2. Tap Mode to show all available shooting modes.
  3. Tap Fast motion to select and enable this mode.
  4. Aim the camera to the object.
  5. Tap to start recording the video.
  6. When you're finished, tap to stop recording the video.

How to edit a fast motion video?
When needed, after recording a video with fast motion mode, you can edit it to suit your need by using the following steps:
  1. In the preview screen of the Camera app, tap the preview thumbnail to view the video you have just recorded in the Gallery app.
  2. Tap to play the video. Your phone will play the video with a randomly set fast motion section.
  3. Tap to pause the playback.
  4. Drag to the desired point to trim the beginning or end part of the video. If you'd like trim it with more precisely, tap and hold and then drag it to the left or right so you can move through the section frame by frame.
  5. Drag to adjust the selected area of the video you want to play in fast motion. If you'd like adjust it with more precisely, tap and hold and then drag it to the left or right so you can move through the section frame by frame.
  6. To adjust the fast motion speed, tap within the fast motion section and then select Speed. Select from: 4x, 8x(this option is enabled by default), 16x, or 32x. As the example, if you select 16x, your phone will play the video sixteen times faster than the actual.
  7. To divide a fast motion section into two parts, tap within the fast motion section and then select Split.
  8. Tap to preview the playback.
  9. If you'd like to save the video, tap Export. The video will be saved in the Video Editor album.
