Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Use Flash to Take Pictures with Rear Camera in Camera App in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

If needed, you can set the flash settings of the rear camera to on to have your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge uses the built-in flash on the back side of the phone to provide you artificial light so you can get a better result when taking a picture in a dark area, in an environment where the light levels are too low, or where the object you want to focus with is darker than the background.

How to use the flash when taking a picture with the rear camera in the Camera app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Camera app. By default, it uses the rear camera.
  2. Tap the Flash icon at the top of the screen to change the flash settings. The icon changes depend on the setting you're using:
    • : this icon will display when the flash is disabled.
    • : this icon will display when the flash is enabled.
    • : this icon will display when the flash is set to auto which means your phone will automatically enable the flash based on the shooting conditions.
As the example, we'll set the flash settings to ON or always enable.
  3. Now, point the camera to the object.
  4. If needed, you can change the focus by tapping anywhere on the screen where the camera should focus.
  5. Tap Your phone will fire the flash to provide artificial light before taking a picture.
  6. Tap the preview thumbnail to view the photo in full screen view in the Gallery app.
