Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Listen to Music Wirelessly with Bluetooth Speaker in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

If you're the one who often use your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to listen to the music, doing this wirelessly with a Bluetooth speaker can be an alternative way if you don't want to plug any cable into your phone when it comes to connect with ear buds, headphones or other external speakers so you can listen to the music away from your phone.


How to listen to music wirelessly with a Bluetooth speaker?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Turn on your Bluetooth speaker.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone by swiping down the top of the screen to access the notification panel and then tap Bluetooth button in the quick settings area. Your phone will automatically scan for all available nearby Bluetooth devices.
  3. Tap your Bluetooth speaker's name to pair and connect it with your phone.
  4. Now, open the Music app and then select the required song you want to listen to with the Bluetooth speaker.
  5. If needed, you can use your Bluetooth speaker to keep your phone unlocked while it's being connected by adding this device into the trusted devices list with these steps:
    • Swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap the smart lock notification.
    • Tap Add as trusted device button.
    • Enter your current screen lock type. As the example, if you use PIN, you have to enter your 4-digit PIN numbers and then tap Done button to continue the process.
    • A pop up window appears to tell you some info about using your Bluetooth speaker as trusted device. To continue, tap Yes, add button to add your Bluetooth speaker into the trusted devices list.
    • Press the Power key twice to go to the lock screen. Here, you'll see that the smart lock feature is enabled and you just need to swipe your finger on the screen to unlock it while your phone is connected with your Bluetooth speaker.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Enable and Use Smart Lock On Body Detection Feature in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

On-body detection is one of smart lock features in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge that can be used when you're using one of screen lock types with secure lock settings(pattern, PIN, password, or fingerprints). When this feature is enabled, you just need to unlock the screen once and it'll stay unlocked while your phone is safe with you, as the example, when you're holding your phone in your hand, when you're carrying it in your pocket or handbag, etc.


How to enable the smart lock on body detection feature?
As the example, we'll turn on this feature when the screen lock type is set to PIN by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to find Lock screen and security and then tap it.
  3. Tap Secure lock settings.
  4. Tap Smart Lock.
  5. Enter 4-digit PIN numbers and then tap Done button.
  6. Tap On-body detection.
  7. Slide the ON/OFF switch to the right to enable the on body detection feature.
  8. A pop up window appears on the screen to inform you that since on-body detection can't always distinguish between you and someone else, if you give your phone to someone else or if someone takes your phone while it's unlocked with on-body detection, they might be able to access it. Tap Continue button to continue enabling the on-body detection feature.
  9. The smart lock on-body detection feature is enabled.


How to use the smart lock on body detection feature?
As the example, we'll use this feature when the screen lock type is set to PIN by using the following steps:
  1. On the lock screen, swipe your finger on the screen and then enter 4-digit PIN numbers followed by tapping OK button to unlock the screen.
  2. Your phone will stay unlocked while it's on you, even when the current automatic screen lock delay period is over. In this state, you just need to turn on the screen and then swipe your finger on the lock screen if you'd like to access your phone.
  3. When you set down the phone, such as, on the table, it'll lock automatically after the current automatic screen lock delay period is over. If the screen is not locked, you can tap on the lock screen to force the phone to lock securely while the smart lock on-body detection is enabled.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Use Smart Lock Trusted Devices Feature in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

When you're using one of the screen lock types with security lock feature(e.g., pattern, direction lock, PIN, password or fingerprints), you can add Bluetooth or NFC devices(e.g., your Bluetooth watch, your car's Bluetooth system, an NFC sticker on the phone dock in your car, or other Bluetooth capable devices) to your trusted devices list to have your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge stays unlocked when connected to those devices.


How to add a Bluetooth device to the trusted devices list?
As the example, we'll add Samsung Galaxy S5 to the trusted devices list when it's connected with your phone and being used for Bluetooth tethering by using the following steps:
  1. While the screen is unlocked, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down to the Personal section and then tap Lock screen and security.
  3. Tap Secure lock settings.
  4. Tap Smart lock.
  5. Perform your screen lock type. As the example, if you use fingerprints as your screen lock, place your finger on the Home key to verify your identity.
  6. Tap Trusted devices.
  7. Tap Add trusted device to start adding Bluetooth devices to the trusted devices list.
  8. Tap Bluetooth.
  9. Tap the Bluetooth device that is being connected with your phone. In this example, tap Galaxy S5.
  10. A pop up window appears on the screen to tell you that a trusted device can keep your phone unlocked when it's nearby, even if someone else is holding it. Tap Yes,add to continue adding the selected device to your trusted devices list.
  11. The selected device has been added to the trusted devices list.


How to use smart lock trusted devices feature?
As the example, we'll use this feature to make unlocking the screen easier while using Bluetooth tethering feature with Samsung Galaxy S5 which has been registered in advance by using the following steps:
  1. Swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap Bluetooth to enable Bluetooth and scan all available Bluetooth devices.
  2. Tap the required Bluetooth device you want to connect to. In this example, tap Galaxy S5 which has been added to the trusted devices list.
  3. As long as your phone is connected to your trusted device, your phone will keep unlocked.
  4. Press the Power key twice to go to the lock screen. At this time, you just need to swipe the screen to unlock it.
  5. If you'd like to lock the screen while your phone is connected to a trusted device, tap and hold at the bottom of the screen and then drag it out the circle to force your phone to lock securely.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Enable and Use Smart Lock Trusted Voice Feature in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

While you're using one of the screen lock types with security lock feature(e.g, pattern, direction lock, PIN, password, or fingerprints), you can use smart lock trusted voice feature to set your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge to automatically unlock the screen when you do a search with voice search "OK Google" that you record in advance.


How to enable smart lock trusted voice feature?
Assuming that you have Internet connection, you can turn on this feature by using the following steps:
  1. While the screen is unlocked, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down to the Personal section and then tap Lock screen and security.
  3. Tap Secure lock settings.
  4. Tap Smart lock.
  5. Perform your screen lock type. As the example, if you use fingerprints as your screen lock, place your finger on the Home key to verify your identity.
  6. Tap Trusted voice.
  7. Slide the ON/OFF switch next to From any screen to the right to enable this option and let you do a search with voice search "OK Google" from any screen when the screen is on or your phone is charging.
  8. If you have not used OK Google detection feature yet, you'll be asked to record your voice. Tap Get started to start recording your voice.
  9. Say "OK Google" three times.
  10. Tap Finish to save the recording of your voice.
  11. Slide the ON/OFF switch next to Trusted voice to the right to enable this option and let your phone unlock the screen when you say OK Google.
  12. Perform your screen lock type. As the example, if you use fingerprints as your screen lock, place your finger on the Home key to verify your identity.
  13. A pop up window appears on the screen to tell you that smart lock trusted voice feature is less secure than a pattern, PIN or password and someone else who has similar voice or a recording of your voice could unlock your phone. Tap OK button to continue using OK Google detection as trusted voice.
  14. Smart lock trusted voice feature has been enabled.


How to use smart lock trusted voice feature?
Assuming that your phone has Internet connection, you can use the following steps as the example of using this feature?
  1. While the screen is locked, either it's on or off, say "OK Google".
  2. When your phone recognizes your voice, the screen will be unlocked and you'll be provided with the voice search screen. Say a keyword you want to search.
  3. Swipe the screen to unlock it and view your search result.
  4. If you don't use your phone, the screen will be locked automatically when the screen lock delay period is over. Alternatively, if you have set the Power key as the screen lock key, you can instantly lock the screen by pressing the Power key.
