How to add contacts to the priority senders list in the Messages app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Messages app.
  2. Tap More at the top right and then tap Add priority senders(this option will be available if you have not added any contact yet to the priority senders list).
  3. Select the required contacts you want to add to the priority senders list and then tap Done button. FYI, you can add up to 25 contacts to the priority senders list and it'd better if you place the most important contacts at the top 5 position for easier access.
  4. The selected contacts have been added to the list and their contacts' icons will be displayed at the top of the messages list in the Messages app so you can easily find them when needed, e.g., sending a message, find a message from your important contact to forward it to another contact, etc.
  5. When you have added a contact to the list, you can easily add other contacts to the list by tapping at the end of the priority senders list and then select the required contacts you want to add to the list. If you have more than five contacts in the list, you have to swipe the list to the right to access this icon.


How to edit priority senders list in the Messages app?
You can remove or rearrange contacts in the priority senders list by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Messages app.
  2. Tap More at the top right and then select Edit priority senders(this option will be available if you have added a contact or some to the priority senders list).
  3. To remove unwanted contacts from the list, tap in the required contact's icon you want to remove. While to change a contact's position in the list, drag the required contact's icon to the other position. Tap Done button to save the changes. .

    • Tap Manage spam numbers.
    • To add a phone number to the spam numbers list, enter the required phone number in the Enter number field. Alternatively, you can tap Inbox to pick up a phone number of a message in your inbox or tap Contacts to pick up a phone number of a contact from your contacts list. Tap to add the entered phone number to the spam numbers list.
    • The phone number or contact has been added to the spam numbers list and all messages come from this contact will be blocked automatically.
  5. To block messages contain with a specific phrases, you have to add the phrase to the spam phrases list by using these steps:
    • Tap Manage spam phrases.
    • To add a phrase to the spam phrases list, enter the required phrase you want to block in the enter text field and then tap .
    • The phrase has been added to the spam phrases list and all messages contain with this phrase will be blocked automatically.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Enable or Disable New Text Messages Vibration Feature in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

If you need an extra notification so you can easily know when you have new text messages in certain condition, e.g., when you're carrying your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge in your pocket or handbag, when you're in a noisy environment, etc., you can enable the text message vibration feature so your phone will give you a vibration feedback when receiving new messages.


How to turn on or off the new text message vibration feature?
Assuming that the sound profile in your phone is set to Sound or Vibrate, you can turn on or off this feature by using the following steps:

  5. Select the required message tone you want to use. Your phone will play the selected tone to give you a preview how it might sound when selected. FYI, if you select Default notification sound, your phone will use the default notification sound as the message tone.
  6. The message tone has been changed.

Method #2: From the Contacts app
You can use this method to assign different message tone for a specific contact. Use the following steps to change message tone from the Contacts app:
  1. Open Contacts app.
  2. Tap the required contact you want to change its message tone.
  3. Tap Edit to edit the selected contact.
  4. Tap Add another field.
  5. Tap Message tone to add this field to the selected contact.
  6. Tap Message tone to assign a different message tone for the selected contact.
  7. Select the required message tone you want to use. Your phone will play the selected tone to give you a preview how it might sound when selected.
  8. Tap the Back key to return to the previous screen.
  9. Tap Save button to save the changes.
  10. The selected tone has been set as message tone for the selected contact.

The Messages app in your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has a feature named quick responses that you can use when you want to be able to quickly respond to unanswered calls or incoming messages with preset messages.


How to manage quick responses the in Messages app?
You can add or delete quick responses in the Messages app by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Messages app.
  2. Tap More at the top right and then select Settings.
  3. Tap Quick responses to see the list of quick responses.
  4. To add a new quick response, enter your own quick response in the Enter message field and then tap to add it to the list.
  5. To delete an existing quick response, tap next to the one you want to remove.


How to use quick responses feature in Messages app?
As the example, we'll using this feature to quickly respond an unanswered call with a preset message by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap Message on the missed call notification to reply the call with preset text message in the Messages app.
  2. Tap More at the top right and then select Quick responses.
  3. Select the required quick response you want to use.
  4. Tap Send to send the message as a response.
